Essel Infra signs MoU for airport projects in India [May 2012]
Essel Infraprojects (EIL) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ADC & HAS, USA's largest Airport operator, for various airport projects in India for 5 years. This strategic relationship will mark Essel Infra's foray into aviation industry in India and will fuel the already charged EIL growth engine to become one of the fastest growing infrastructure company in India.
With a total market size of USD 10 billion and an average growth rate of 25 per cent YOY in passenger and air cargo over the last 5 years, the civil aviation sector in India is expected to handle around 400 million passengers and an estimated 5 million tons of cargo per year.
“This joint venture between EIL and ADC & HAS will target various upcoming Greenfield/Brownfield Airport projects in India like Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), MOPA (Second Airport at Goa), New Airport at Dholera, 2nd Airport at Chennai, etc. and will extend the cooperation in various other Asian markets as well”, a statement released by the company said.
