Vetrotech Saint Gobain, a division of Saint-Gobain Glass India, the leading float glass manufacturer in India launched their advanced range of Fire Resistant Glass – ‘Vetroflam’ for exterior application. Vetroflam is made from an advanced technology that helps bring together fire resistance and solar control in a single product. Thus this product is an ideal product for specific applications in the building facades and exteriors where aesthetics needs to blend in with safety.
While green buildings are on the increase, the focus is in ensuring adequate fire protection also; in addition to the state the art Solar control glasses that help cut out the heat while allowing light to come in, many builders are going in for fire rated glass on the facade and exteriors of buildings, specifically in areas like refuge terraces, staircase enclosure, shop fronts in tall buildings etc.  Vetroflam is the latest new product from Vetrotech Saint-Gobain that combines fire resistance and solar control properties. Tested in International labs for upto 2 hours of fire resistance, this product has a solar factor of 0.26 and a U value of 1.5W/m2K.   Thus it is an ideal product that qualifies for LEED or GRIHA ratings as well as conforms to National Building Code norms.  Vetroflam is super toughened and hence has excellent mechanical strength, high impact resistance, is easy to transport, handle and install. Builders/Architects have a variety of sizes to pick from while designing the Home/Office space. The product comes in a double glazed unit and has a thickness of 24 mm. Not only will Vetroflam glass ensure fire resistance and solar control, but also easily blends in with the architect’s design plans.
This new age product is thus ideal for use in theatres, hospitals, libraries, Shopping malls, Hotels and Public spaces where a large number of people transit in enclosed places.
