India and Japan to co-operate in road building [June 2012]

India and Japan have agreed to enhance the cooperation in infrastructure development especially in road sector. Both the Governments have identified focus areas that include development of the high speed expressway corridors, use of modern technology for intelligent transport system including electronic toll collection and tolling system. The Indian Government also expects Japan’s suggestions for finding funding solutions of these projects.
