Keeping these trends in mind, the company plans to keep expanding their product portfolio in this direction and renovating its existing product line to suit the needs of the ever-changing market requirement.
What are the technologies or solutions that you’ve displayed at this expo?
We have displayed solution driven product ranges that are a part of ELIOT programme. Other than that we have showcase solutions such as My Home Up, Classe 300 IP door phones, Nuvo for audio systems, hospitality – neat for integrated assisted living, Flex commercial — energy distribution.
In the digitised era, how do your solutions transform homes into smart homes?
Legrand Vantage home automation includes automated lighting, heating, blinds, alarms and access controls within a single, unified system. Simple programming provides the perfect mist at every time of the day – when you go out, the cooling goes down and the alarm system goes on; as night falls, lighting is modulated to create the right setting, changing for different parts of the evening.
How do you see the market for your home automation products in India? What are the major challenges that you are currently facing?
The home automation and lighting control market is on upsurge due to increase in awareness for technology and smart devices in Indian market. This has been possible due to the growth in the smartphone sector and invention of innovative smart devices, increasing financial ability in tier-I and tier-II cities. There has been an increase in the purchasing power of consumers clubbed with exposure to technology and lifestyle experience. Consumers are experimenting with the various available forms of home-automation-standalone, integrated or mixed. By 2022, the home automation market is expected to cross the figure of `30,000 crore, according to industry estimates. Although there is awareness about the product availability in the market, there is lack of knowledge when it comes to installation of these products.
What are your future plans?
We are soon launching a connected range, Arteor with Netatmo, allowing for control using touch, swipe from anywhere and voice. Further, through our partnership modules, with vocal assistants – Apple Siri, Amazon Alexa etc, Google Assistant and IoT platforms such as IFTTT, we have a robust system ready for our interoperable offerings and we feel this will arm our customers with all around efficient solutions for building and living spaces. We are also looking at making our products more accessible to end consumers through direct marketing and awareness program directed towards them i.e. moving from a B2B spectrum alone to a B2C spectrum too.
