Ramco’s Dinesh Rajaiah wins silver in Japan Badminton
Dinesh Rajaiah, supported by Ramco Cements, won silver in Japan Para Badminton 2024, demonstrating resilience and talent in Tokyo.
Dinesh Rajaiah, an employee of Ramco Cements, earned a silver medal in the men’s doubles event at the Japan Para Badminton International 2024 in Tokyo. He won the medal alongside Paralympian Sukanth Kadam. Notably, Sukanth Kadam finished fourth in the men’s singles in the Paris Paralympic Games, which ended in September 2024. The Japan Para Badminton International 2024 took place in Tokyo from October 22nd to October 27th, 2024, and featured over 200 players.
Dinesh, despite a shoulder injury and highly wrapped right shoulder, gave the spectators a nail-biting finale. The couple trailed 16-20 in the second set but rallied to send the game to the third set, which they lost 16-21. The pair won the hearts of the spectators with their never-say-die attitude in the event’s final match.
Dinesh enters the top 15 in the BWF Para World Ranking for men’s singles and is now rated 14 in the world. Ramco Cements has been sponsoring Dinesh Rajaiah since he demonstrated his talent in a Ramco Cements inter-unit tournament in 2017. The corporation then pushed him to pursue professional badminton teaching and has sponsored him in all major international events. Ramco Cements wishes Dinesh continued achievement in future events.
