Green Concrete

About 200 years ago, in 1824, Joseph Aspdin, a British bricklayer, invented the earliest form of Portland Cement, the principal element of concrete, in his kitchen. Since then and even today, concrete has been one of the most widely used materials in construction, largely characterising the architecture of the 20th century globally. The material has lent itself to countless forms, allowing architects and construction professionals to achieve unique works that skilfully express their creativity. But what has pushed us now to rethink our concrete practices?
