CG Smart Habitat Foundation hosted a conference on airports, landports and seaports with a vision to promote interaction between the architects across India.

 Late this week, CG Smart Habitat Foundation hosted a conference on airports, landports and seaports with a vision to promote interaction between the architects across India. In appreciation of his tremendous contribution to Indian architecture, the legend of Indian architecture Ar.Raj Rewal was presented a token of appreciation.

“This is a great initiative by Prof. Charanjit Singh Shah and Smart Habitat Foundation to facilitate all the architects and recognize their contribution towards architecture. While talking very big, first we have to be considerate about our present conditions, we have still very large settlements that are very poor, says Ar. Raj Rewal”.

Various others architects who received the award for excellence for contributing their  lifetime towards the betterment of the society were, Dr. Mangu Singh, Mr. S.R Sikka, Ar. Balbir Verma, Pro. S.M Akhtar, Er. V.S Kukreja, Ar. Suneet Paul.

Some other awards such as, “Engineer of the Year” Award was facilitated to Mr. Sanjeev Jindal, “Architect Of The Year Award in Landports” to Ar. Gurpreet Shah “Excellence in Propagating Architectural Profession” to Divya Kush, “Engineer Of the year Award Civil and structure” to Er. Naveen Jaitly, “Green Field Airport Expert Award” to Mr. Gurmukh Singh Bawa.

Shri GS Bawa adds “I have been attending and organizing award ceremonies and events in various capacities and cherishing the laughter and happiness of those who get the award and the talks over a glass of wine in the club all those who missed it. So, I almost have seen both sides of the coin and generally not so enthused on such awards and recognitions; but this one, this time was different as it was more for those who were working behind the screen and had been pushing me on the front for various reasons; so the thrill of getting is entirely different. Yes, I am talking about the Architect of Year Award (Greenfield Airport)-2022, conferred upon me by the CG Smart Habitat Foundation.”

The evening concluded with presentations by dignitaries in the field on visioning new infrastructure in India and a cocktail reception.
