Gujarat metro link to open soon

By May or June, a metro link will connect Gujarat’s Modi Stadium, Mahatma Mandir, and GIFT City, says GMRC.

According to Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited, the Metro rail link between Narendra Modi Stadium, Mahatma Mandir, and GIFT City is scheduled to open in May or June of this year following the acquisition of the necessary authorisation.

As part of phase 2 of the metro project, GMRC conducted a trial run of the metro between Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) and Gujarat International Finance-Tec City (GIFT City).

The trial runs of the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar metro phase-2 between GNLU and Sector 1 began the final week of February, according to an official announcement from GMRC. It also stated that GNLU and GIFT City carried out the testing run.

There will be 22 stops along the 28-kilometre connection. Trial runs between the stations are scheduled to occur gradually, and the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety will then be asked to evaluate safety.
