Jindal Stainless reduces CO2 emissions
According to a statement from the company, Jindal Stainless reduced its carbon emissions by 2.4 lakh metric tonnes between 2022–2023 and 2023–2024. To achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050, Jindal Stainless Ltd. (JSL) is putting various plans into practice.
According to a statement released by the company on Wednesday, Jindal Stainless reduced its carbon emissions by 2.4 lakh metric tonnes in 2022–2023 and 2023–2024. To achieve carbon neutrality in its emissions by 2050, Jindal Stainless Ltd. (JSL) is putting certain measures into practice. “In the last two fiscals (FY22 and FY23), the company has managed to successfully reduce 2.4 lakh metric tonnes of CO2 emissions, taking it a step closer to carbon neutrality and responsible manufacturing,” the statement stated.
The corporation claims that it has started using renewable energy sources for operations. It has also started producing green hydrogen, which is used in the steel industry. JSL has also improved energy efficiency and the usage of electric cars at its plants in Odisha and Haryana by modernising its equipment and implementing digitalisation.
“These initiatives have contributed to the significant reduction of approximately 2.4 lakh metric tonnes of CO2 emissions over the past two fiscal years,” the company added.
The United Kingdom’s Research-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) provides guidelines, tools, and advice to help businesses set aggressive carbon reduction goals that align with climate research.
