L&T- Sojitz bag Rs 6,700 crore rail deal
A consortium of Larsen & Toubro Ltd and Japan-based Sojitz has bagged a Rs 6,700-crore railway contract, one of the country's biggest, for construction of 643 km long twin-track line that will form part of the western dedicated freight corridor (DFC).
The order received from Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCI)involves design and construct the track between Rewari in Haryana and Palanpur in Gujarat.
The contract, part of the 1,483-km-long western dedicated corridor, is the single largest railway contract so far. The corridor is coming up between Dadri near Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru Port, Navi Mumbai.
