MHADA announces major discounts on lottery homes

MHADA announces significant price reductions on 370 flats, extends the deadline for applications, and adds new mascots to improve accessibility.

Price reductions ranging from 10 percent to 25 percent are being given on 370 houses through the Mumbai Board Lottery, according to the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA). When MHADA’s mascot, Shri and Shrimati Nivasi, appears at the association’s headquarters, Housing Minister Atul Save reveals this announcement.

There is going to be a substantial price reduction on the 370 apartments which have been sold via rehabilitation projects under DCR 33(5), 33(7), and 58. The Economically Weaker Section (EWS) would lose 25 percent of its funding, the Low-Income Group (LIG) would lose 20 percent, the Middle-Income Group (MIG) to lose 15 percent, and the High-Income Group (HIG) would lose 10 percent. These are the specific cutbacks that Minister Save gave. The deadline for submitting online applications has been extended until September 19, 2024 in order to accommodate more persons to take part in the lottery. We will shortly announce the revised lottery draw timetable.

As he welcome the mascot of MHADA to the organisation, Minister Atul Save states,”This mascot will act as a goodwill ambassador for MHADA. As a citizen-centric organisation, MHADA interacts with many people who seek guidance on various processes. In such instances, this mascot, Shri and Shrimati Nivasi, will help citizens understand and navigate MHADA’s procedures. MHADA has always adapted to changing times, implementing necessary updates to its operations. By integrating modern technology, MHADA has resolved many issues faced by citizens through online services, and has also launched the highly transparent IHLMS 2.0 system for apartment sales. Creating these mascots is another step forward in our commitment to public service.”

Minister Save also praises the contributions of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar in the housing sector, stating, “This mascot will serve as a living companion for citizens on their journey to homeownership. They will be an effective tool in making information about MHADA’s schemes more accessible, thereby aiding citizens in their decision making process.”

Speaking at the event, MHADA Vice President & CEO, Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS), says, “MHADA’s mascot, ‘Shri and Shrimati Nivasi,’ signify the new identity of MHADA and bring to life the dream of homeownership for every citizen. This mascot will guide people regarding MHADA’s schemes, offering friendly advice on housing-related issues and acting as a reliable companion in their journey. The mascot will provide friendly guidance on housing matters, making information about MHADA’s schemes and services more easily accessible to the public. ‘Shri and Shrimati Nivasi’ embody MHADA’s goals and efficiency. Through them, our aim is to deliver services more seamlessly and achieve excellence in the housing sector. MHADA’s next goal is to ensure the availability of affordable homes to the public.”

He adds, “Under the guidance of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Housing Minister Atul Save, MHADA has implemented the IHLMS 2.0, a transparent online lottery system for apartment sales. This system covers everything from registration to possession of the apartment. We are also actively engaged on social media platforms to quickly disseminate information related to MHADA and to stay connected with the public. In the future, chatbox technology will also be integrated into MHADA’s mascot system.”
