Sanjay Puri Architects, a globally recognised architectural powerhouse, has proudly secured the prestigious title of Category Winner in the COMPLETED BUILDING: PRODUCTION, ENERGY & LOGISTICS category at the 2023 World Architecture Festival (WAF).

The Courtyard CCR Lab derives its principles from the traditional Indian courtyard houses, creating spaces that vary in volumes and orientation, allowing open spaces to be integrated with enclosed ones, and creating energy-efficient work spaces. The firm’s groundbreaking project, “THE COURTYARD CCR LAB,” stood out for its exceptional innovation, sustainability, and thoughtful design.

The esteemed judging panel for the COMPLETED BUILDING: PRODUCTION, ENERGY & LOGISTICS category at WAF 2023 comprised industry luminaries Patrick Bellew (Chairman) internationally acclaimed for his expertise in sustainable design, Patrick Bellew’s, Mark and Viviana Muscettola.

The Courtyard CCR Lab is characterised by a dynamic and organic twist in its linear space plan, creating a spacious landscaped courtyard within. The lifting of floors strategically enhances natural ventilation, while large volumes at corners foster visual connectivity between different floors. The project’s orientation optimises exposure to natural light, and external fins, angled as per the sun’s direction, contribute to a comfortable and energy-efficient internal environment.
