SCHWING Stetter launches mini concrete mixer ‘NIMO’ [Dec 2011]

SCHWING Stetter launches mini concrete mixer ‘NIMO’
SCHWING Stetter India, one of the pioneers of concrete construction equipment in India, announced the launch of their new product – NIMO. NIMO enters the Indian market as an enterprising mini concrete mixer. The product was unveiled by Anand Sundaresan, Managing Director, SCHWING Stetter India, and VG Sakthikumar, Chief Operating Officer, SCHWING Stetter India.
NIMO is a 3 cubic meter mixer, created to meet the requirements of the Indian residential construction industry. This unique mixer can be used during the day, unlike larger mixers which cannot ply within the city during working hours, due to legal restrictions, and where it is not economically viable. Its light weight also enables it to manoeuvre through narrow lanes and over softer terrain. NIMO is all of 6500 mm in length x 2400 mm in width x 3100 mm in height.
The Indian construction industry has been on a high growth path for more than a decade, led by buoyancy in sectors such as real estate and infrastructure. The industry has witnessed continuous modernisation and adoption of new technologies in recent years. The increased infrastructure and real estate development pace in India, brings with it problems of congestion of traffic in cities, narrow by-lanes, increase in high rise buildings and the need for speedy delivery of concrete.
Speaking on the occasion, Anand Sundaresan, Managing Director, SCHWING Stetter India said, “It is indeed promising to see India emerging as a major manufacturing hub for the construction equipment industry. This industry in India is expected to grow to a size of US$ 6.5 billion by the year 2014 as reported by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).”
VG Sakthikumar, Chief Operating Officer, SCHWING Stetter India remarked, “The launch of NIMO marks a landmark year for SCHWING Stetter. NIMO will bring about a revolution in the construction landscape with its small size, as it will help negotiate traffic during the day and noise pollution during the nights, and will accelerate the execution and delivery of time bound projects.”
