US firm Pella Corp. enters luxury interiors industry in India
With the burgeoning demand of luxury homes in India coupled with the rising exposure and aspirations of Indian consumers, US based Pella Corporation – manufacturers of premium windows & doors, announced its foray into the Indian market. The company has collaborated with Abir Trademart to build upon its foot-print in India and is currently looking at all the major metros across the country for the first phase of its expansion.
Pella Corporation is a leader in designing, testing, manufacturing and installing energy-efficient windows and doors for new constructions, as well as re-modelling and replacement for residential and commercial needs.
Commenting on the development, John M Sullivan, Head of International Business, Pella Corporation, said, “People in India are now globally exposed and are increasingly looking for enhanced lifestyle and living standards with modern design and concepts, which offer a great potential for our products and brand,” John further added.
Amit Sabharwall, COO, Pella India (Abir Trademart), said, “We have started our operation from New Delhi in India and soon plan to foray into other parts of the country, including Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata. In the phase II of our expansion, we plan to reach out to consumers in major tier II towns, which will include cities like Ludhiana, Lucknow, Jaipur, Srinagar to name a few”.
For an average farmhouse the price point of Pella products will range from Rs. 1.5 crore to Rs. 2.5 crore and an average 3000 sq. ft. house will range from Rs. 15 Lakhs to Rs. 42 Lakhs. The company wants to differentiate in the premium segment using innovative technology and materials and at the mid-premium segment through design differences.
