WCL plans to undertake expansion of production capacity in Maharashtra

Mining: Western Coalfields Ltd (WCL) has plan to undertake expansion of production capacity of its Ghonsa open cast mine at Yavatmal District in Maharashtra. Environment nod is received for the project. The project entails increasing the mining capacity from 0.60 mtpa from 0.45 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) with an increase in mine lease area to 278.68 hectare from 128.79 hectare.
