Anchor gearing up for holistic solutions to reduce environmental burden

“We believe in building sustainable communities using the group strength in all areas of life,” says Ashok Gangar, Director Sales & Marketing, Anchor Electricals Pvt. Ltd.
The biggest advantage that Anchor brings to the table for India is that it is a Panasonic Group company, and Anchor has formed a formidable EPC development unit in Bangalore. In an exclusive interview with ACE Update, Ashok Gangar talks why india should focus on promoting and developing advanced technologies.
How does your company approach green design?Anchor is one of the key members of the Panasonic Corporation’s eco-solutions company in India. The eco-solutions company of Panasonic provides a residential as well as non-residential environment where people around the world can live comfortably while reducing the environmental impact. Thus, green design is an integral part of the product development process at Anchor. Anchor’s endeavors would be directed towards making eco-friendly, energy-saving products and eventually gear up to offer holistic solutions for creating a comfortable environment while reducing environmental burden, including home, office building, factory and community by using the Panasonic Group’s integrated and cutting-edge energy management technology.
Name some of your important products for green designs. What makes them important and sustainable? The biggest advantage that Anchor brings to the table for India is that it is a Panasonic Group company. Panasonic develops products as well as the technology. Thus, it can offer best-in-the-globe functionality with integration of products and technology for all spaces in the globe. Being a vital member of the eco-solutions company, Anchor ventured into manufacturing some of the green products in-house, in its manufacturing facilities at Daman, Kutch, Haridwar and Roorkee while the Panasonic LED lighting products are procured from Panasonic’s facilities across the globe. Anchor has a RoHS compliant product basket which falls as a perfect fitment to the needs of green housing. Panasonic Vision range of switches and accessories, Panasonic Switchgear comprising of miniature circuit breakers, residual current circuit breakers, isolators and distribution boards adhere to RoHS requirements along with the IS standards as well. Panasonic LED Lighting was introduced by Anchor in 2013-14. The LED product line-up caters to the lighting needs of residences, commercial, retail as well as hospitality premises and boasts of features such as long operational life, availability of products at price-points catering to the entire Indian socio-economic spectrum and optimum brightness. Panasonic HIT solar PV modules boast of high space efficiency, negative temperature coefficient, low luminance sensitivity, and high reliability and durability. It is a Panasonic unique product exclusively marketed by Anchor in India since 2014.
What are your major plans to take your businesses to the next level?Anchor has formed a formidable EPC development unit in Bangalore, which brings immense experience of PV cell and module knowledge, inverter and balance of system design knowledge, high level of project management capability and site execution and management strength having executed many successful roof top and MW scale utility solar PV projects in India and abroad. The combination of quality modules and strong EPC team will bring credibility, high level of commitment and long-term support to our clients. Thus, it is poised on providing end-to-end solutions to its customers.
The highest goal of green architecture is to be fully sustainable. How to achieve sustainability in architecture?
Sustainable architecture seeks to minimise the negative environmental impact of buildings by efficiency and moderation in the use of materials, energy, development space and so forth. To create sustainability, the architecture should foresee the evolution of that particular space or premise to be constructed at least two decades ahead. It should focus on a harmonious integration of the socio-cultural understanding and the eco-system of that particular space. We, at Anchor Panasonic, believe in building sustainable communities using the group strength in all areas of life.
There are many controversies on LEED certification, which is criticised for poor model of energy efficiency. How do you look into this matter?Energy-efficiency is not just the responsibility of LEED certification. On one side, it is offering an avenue and the chance to bring more eco-friendly materials and eco-friendly lifestyle to develop eco-friendly constructions. The need of the hour is to spread a word about how energy can be conserved, and the new government is aggressively driving this change through several initiatives. Although I feel that the government should focus on promoting and developing advanced technologies in India that will effectively enable it to solve the power crisis.
