Pragyan is the international techno-managerial festival of National Institute of Technology, Trichy. Since its inception in 2005, it has grown to become the first student run organisation to get an ISO 20121:2012 Certification for Sustainable Event Management. With more than 4,500 participants from over 60 countries, Pragyan hosts more than 50 events spread across 10 clusters.
The 10 clusters range from Core Engineering to Managerial Competitions depending on the type of the event. Of these, Core-E caters to tech enthusiasts from all fields of interests.
Circuitrix was conceived as an integral part of Core-E in the year 2014 and is a platform for all electronics enthusiasts to test their knowledge on the basics of electronics.
This Pragyan, Circuitrix was planned to be held in two editions. The first edition was held at SKCET, Coimbatore and at CUSAT, Kochi, as a part of Square One, the outreach program conducted in December 2016 and February 2017, respectively. The second edition had its first round on the 17th and 19th of February. It was an online round, consisting of one objective and one subjective round. The top 40 teams would move to the final round that would be held during Pragyan.
In the final round, a problem statement will be provided to all the teams and a certain amount of money will be assigned as virtual cash. Each team will be using that money to buy the required components as per their problem statement and use them to design the circuit.
The idea with which Circuitrix was introduced was to provide a platform for like-minded enthusiasts to express, compete and learn from each other. The event has done justice to the idea and promises to set a higher benchmark for the future editions to come.
