How does the use of Precast Concrete technologies ensure the rapid construction of infrastructure projects?
All structural elements are produced offsite so there will be no concrete work at the construction site. Usually, infrastructure work disturbs the public movement and by using precast technology it can be avoided. The offsite casted elements can be brought to the construction site at night and could be put in place for erection. The work can be completed in a short duration and it also avoids pollution generated through construction on the environment.

Also, the grade of concrete minimum M40 is used. This higher grade of concrete will give good quality and durable elements. Normally, no additive is required to increase durability. The accelerators will be used in concrete to achieve concrete strength.
What are the specific areas in infrastructure where precast can pay a major role?
Precast trenches should be used to construct roadside sewerage drains, cable trenches etc. If constructed with proper planning, these trenches can avoid frequent digging of roads. Ducts, road tunnels, aqua ducts and road cross overs can be done very easily using precast technology. Flyovers and bridges have been built over the years in India using precast technology. Implementation of precast for building roads should happen in a big way across India.
