India Steel 2025 to showcase global steel innovation

To examine growth, sustainability, innovation, and cooperation in India’s developing steel sector, India Steel 2025 will bring together world leaders in the industry.
The India Steel 2025 will be held from 24 April to 26 April, 2025, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. The 6th edition of the biennial international exhibition and conference will bring together key stakeholders from across the global steel value chain to discuss the sector’s future trajectory, with a particular emphasis on growth, sustainability, resilience, and innovation.
According to the National Steel Policy, India aims to achieve 300 million tonnes of production capacity and 160 kg per capita consumption by 2030. Given the steel sector’s ambitious growth, the conference is being organised to create new opportunities for interstate and international collaboration, facilitate knowledge exchange, and highlight India’s policy reforms and infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving the ease of doing business across the steel value chain.
In the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Hon. H. D. Kumaraswamy, Hon. Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma, Hon. Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Phadnavis, and Hon. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishu Deo Sai, the Hon. Prime Minister of India will conduct a video conference on April 24, 2025, to address the nation’s premier steel industry event.
The conference will feature high-level participation from various central ministries and states, including chief ministers and union ministers, emphasising the critical importance of steel as a clog in the wheel of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Union Ministers, Hon’ble Minister of Steel and Heavy Industries Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy, Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Hon’ble Minister of New & Renewable Energy and Consumer Affairs Shri Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries. Shri Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, and Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha. They will preside over key conference sessions, reflecting steel’s multifaceted role in India’s economic and industrial strategy.
Senior Indian government officials, including the Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Secretary of the Ministry of Steel, and the Secretary of the Ministry of Coal, will chair key sessions at the event.
The event will also feature global industry leaders and senior foreign dignitaries leading high-level delegations, such as the Russian Federation’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, as well as Ambassadors from Australia, Mozambique, and Mongolia, reflecting the steel sector’s growing international engagement and strategic cooperation.
The International Conference-cum-Exhibition highlights include an exhibition and innovation showcase featuring cutting-edge technologies and advancements in the steel industry.
- Roundtable Conferences: Discussions on sector-specific topics, international collaboration, and emerging trends, such as CEO roundtables and sectoral roundtables.
- Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet (RBSM): Facilitating trade opportunities and developing new business relationships.
- International Engagement: Country-specific sessions with key steel producers such as South Korea, Sweden, Australia, and Mongolia. These discussions will focus on joint research, technology transfer, and resilient supply chains as ways to reduce risk in India’s steel production and boost global competitiveness.
The occasion will also highlight topics like promoting international collaborations, demonstrating cutting-edge steel applications, and increasing domestic consumption.
One of the largest steel events in the world, the conference will bring together more than 12,000 business visitors, 250 exhibitors, and 1,200 conference delegates from a variety of sectors, government departments, state governments, country delegations, and domestic and international buyers from India and abroad.
