NBCC bags ₹400-Cr contract in Mumbai

Navratna public sector undertaking NBCC (India) Ltd has bagged ₹400-crore project awarded to it by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, to construct India Pavilion at the Dubai World Expo 2020.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Yogesh Sharma, Executive Director NBCC and Manoj Dwivedi, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, in the presence of Dr. Anup Wadhawan, Commerce Secretary.

The scope of work of the project includes conceptualisation, design and construction of 4,614-sq.m India Pavilion and other utilities.

Apart from showcasing India’s path breaking programmes like ‘Make in India’, Smart Cities, ‘Digital India’, the aim of India Pavilion will also be to showcase India’s strength in innovation and start-ups which are pushing the boundaries in high technology areas like artificial intelligence, fin-tech, space and green energy.

The India Pavilion sub-themed as ‘OPPORTUNITY’ will be a fine blend of modern outlook and billion dreams and millions of opportunities with a focus on building a happy world. The immense cultural diversity of India will also be on display at the pavilion.
