SICI 2012 highlights ‘Green’ issues

SICI 2012, an annual Sustainability in Design & Construction India Summit 2012, held on 2-3 August in Bangalore, witnessed greater footfall. Leading developers, architects, consultants, contractors, corporate houses, relevant government entities and research agencies, from across the country have attended the event. The summit also saw the presence of leading solution providers such as Vijaynath Roofing Solutions & Four Star, Neoperl Far East, Pidlite, Tata BP Solar, Asahi India Glass, Lloyd Insulations, Climaveneta, Kansai Nerolac, Schneider Electric and Rasmi. Experts from the industries, LEAD consultants, TERI, FKCCI, and ISHRAE presented informative presentations during the second day of the event. Besides these, many students also participated and contributed valuable insights.
Reduction of urban carbon footprint, pro’s and con’s of rating systems in India, disruptive technologies in sustainable construction, integrating solar & lighting solutions were some of the topics discussed at the summit.     
The event in its 3rd year proved to be an ideal platform for Indian construction insiders. Organised by niSpana every year the summit integrated major industrial issues, analysing industrial problems with in-depth view paving way for the sustainable development of Indian construction industry.
