The Gati Shakti cargo terminal by Ramco Cement
Ramco Cement’s GATI Shakti Cargo Terminal Project is officially launched by PM, marking a first for the cement industry.
The Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal project by Ramco Cements was virtually inaugurated today in Jayanthipuram village, Jaggaiahpet Mandal, NTR District, Andhra Pradesh, by Honourable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi. Ramco Cements will begin moving crushed limestone from its mines in Budawada to its integrated cement factory in Jayanthipuram with the project’s opening.
This initiative is the first of its kind in the nation; a cement firm will use electric locomotives to carry crushed limestone in an environmentally friendly manner via railway waggons from its mines to the cement plant’s waggon unloading area.
The railway waggons carrying crushed limestone from the Budawada mines would be unloaded at the Jayanthipuram factory after a journey of 8.3 km. The South Central Main Railway Line, which runs from Mellacheruvu to Jaggaiahpet stations, will be 4.9 km long, and Ramco Cements’ designated sidings will be 3.4 km long.
Ramco Cements is happy to be a part of the Prime Minister’s Gati Shakti Mission’s Dedicated Freight Corridor.
