Duravit makes rural school smart, yet again
Duravit India Pvt. Ltd., Ahmedabad, the wholly owned subsidiary of Duravit AG, Germany, has announced the launch of Smart Class Program. The CSR initiative would drive the overall educational development in Madhavlal Shah U. B. Vidhyalay, At & Po. Valli (Kanewal). The company has associated with the NGO YUVA Unstoppable for the program, which is likely to benefit students by influencing a technology-integrated learning model.
Asutosh Shah, Managing Director of Duravit India said, “The initiative will be benefiting the underprivileged children. Technology has revolutionised the world, and also created amazing tools and resources. In this digitalised era, every child should be well versed with the latest technology. Technology- integrated model in schools can make learning more fun and impactful. This is the second school we converted in last two years and we wish to do 100 such schools.
The initiative is expected to play a vital role in transforming and improving the overall development of underprivileged students learning and effectiveness. It aims to ensure children get a positive environment that would aid completion of their secondary school education through a technology-led educational program. The program uses K-Yan technology that incorporates the features of computer-based learning into a high-resolution, high-luminosity portable projector along with various built-in features, including internet connectivity and showing multimedia content to the students. The program will not be a replacement to the existing teachers but will act as an additional aid to them, as well as train them to teach in a more effective manner.
Duravit India not only equipped school with smart class but also revamped the entire school.
Under the initiative, five classes were renovated with new roof, new toilet block was constructed, smart classes with K Yan technology and new drinking water facility were developed, Create @2000 Sq. Feet pathway with paver blocks, computer lab was reactivated, and a tutor was provided for a year to train teaching staff as well as students.
