RAINY: self-cleaning, unique rainwater harvesting filter

Farmland Rainwater Harvesting System (FLRWHS) is an Indian company which has been exclusively devoted to rainwater harvesting systems for the past decade and a half. Based on a strong scientific platform and with continuous R&D the firm has invented the first of its kind, wall mounting, self-cleaning, auto flush out, maintenance-free, rooftop rainwater harvesting filter called “RAINY”.
FLRWHS has installed more than 47,000 RAINY filters across the country and have also exported the filters to various other countries. Since the filters work on gravity, require absolutely no external source of energy in terms of power or fossil fuel to operate. Energy efficiency together with its inbuilt self cleaning mechanism, the product gets recognised within very short span of time.The uniquely designed and patented rainwater harvesting filter RAINY has  the potential to gather and cater up to 35 to 50 per cent of the water needs per year thereby significantly addressing the shortage of water in both rural and urban areas. Even with a small roof area of 1,200 square feet and 500 mm of rainfall, the filter is able to collect about 50,000 litres of water per annum. Since the entire system used in collecting the rainwater is through gravitational means, the product is eco-friendly, prevents global warming and mitigates carbon footprint.
RAINY has helped people to save the precious water and also power in the areas where there is scarcity for drinking water. Because of its revolutionary technology and wide spread acceptance throughout the country, the company is awarded with two national awards. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has awarded “most innovative water saving product” to the company. The company was also awarded with the JSW – Times of India Award for Excellence in Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation. In addition to various other recognitions the company has received the prestigious “Green Champions Award” presented by Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
