Bentley Systems acquires S-Cube Futuretech

In February, Bentley Systems, Incorporated announced its acquisition of S-Cube Futuretech Pvt. Ltd, a concrete building design and documentation software company based in Mumbai, India. The addition of S-Cube Futuretech’s applications expands Bentley’s offerings specific to the needs of concrete engineering design and documentation software users in India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

These new applications, including RCDC, RCDC FE, RCDC Plan, and Steel AutoDrafter, deliver flexible and powerful design and documentation solutions for structural concrete building engineers and designers. The software enables users to localise automated concrete documentation to regional requirements and provides users with convincing value and capabilities that complement STAAD, RAM, and AECOsim Building Designer, Bentley’s extensively used structural analysis, steel design, and BIM application.

At a recent press event held in Mumbai, India experts illustrated through lecture and live demonstration how they are providing structural engineers in India with a comprehensive, integrated, interactive environment for concrete design and deliverables in its new CONNECT editions. Bentley and its S-Cube Futuretech partners are working smarter to offer integrated software applications that facilitate BIM for concrete building design workflows enabling users to meet the demanding standards of the Indian market.

Commenting on Bentley’s technology offerings in the concrete building sector, Josh Taylor, Director of Product Management, Bentley Systems, said, “Over the next 20-30 years, the world’s cities will see a boom in population that will demand infrastructure growth to accommodate everyone. This growth will continue to be concentrated in the developing markets of Asia, particularly India, China, and Southeast Asia countries. Efficient, automated, concrete design and detailing tools will be instrumental to every nation’s ability to address this demand.

“We are enthusiastic to have S-Cube’s expert team on board whose established technology provides automated and interactive concrete design and drawing capabilities to Bentley’s STAAD and RAM users. With this acquisition, S-Cube brings its wealth of experience in providing concrete design and drawing automation to this growing market,” continued Taylor.

The construction industry in India is on the cusp of sweeping change with new materials, building technology, software, digitization, and artificial intelligence changing the way it builds. India has always been a big market for global technology companies to venture, and that is why many EPCs have set up delivery centres in India.

Sajit Nair, previously CEO of S-Cube Futuretech and now Director of Business Development, Southeast Asia and India for Bentley Systems, said, “As a global leader in the structural analysis and design space, Bentley brings state-of-the-art BIM and structural analysis technology, a strong user-centric ethos, and global market experience that will help scale our solutions to a much broader market. We are excited about bringing more functionality and capabilities to more users globally, in a shorter timeframe than we would have been able to otherwise.”
