Ecobuild India: gateway for sustainable development
After 8 years of its launch in London, Ecobuild, one of the world’s largest exhibition and conference dedicated to the future of sustainable building design, construction and built environment, is coming to India. The event is scheduled to take place from April 16th-18th at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East), Mumbai.
The Ecobuild exhibition will feature several leading players showcasing eco-friendly building products and technologies including energy- and water-saving equipment and products, waste management methodologies etc. A unique, one-of-its-kind experience zone will provide information, comparative analysis and demonstration on products and technologies related to lighting, plumbing fixtures, water conservation and harvesting, alternative building materials and technology, and solid waste management techniques, which would be beneficial to developers, architects and consultants.
Ecobuild India’s prestigious conference and seminar programme would comprise two streams titled, “Beyond the Built Environment: Achieving India’s Sustainable Future” and “Making Sustainable Design and Construction Happen” engaging  sustainability thought leaders, CEOs and prominent architects from across the built environment in cutting-edge debates and discussions. There will be also a 3-day comprehensive workshop on solar photovoltaic design, technology and application.
The prominent  speakers at the event will include leading green developers Dr Chandrashekar Hariharan, CEO, Biodiversity Conservation India Ltd.; S. Padmanabhan, Director, South Asian Regional Initiative for Energy, Senior Energy Advisor, USAID/India; Hans Brouwer, Founder HB Design Pvt. Ltd.; and Mili Majumdar, Director, Sustainable Habitat Division, the Energy and Resource Institute.
The key exhibitors at the event include Ashtech India, Pidilite Industries, Forbo Flooring, STP Industries, Baijnath, Green Build Products, Texplas Composites, and Gyploc. They would feature high-quality sustainable products and services understanding local requirements and expectations of the built environment. The event would serve as an interesting platform for “building market” professionals to get educated, informed and updated on the solutions to the challenges in the built environment besides offering a huge networking platform.
