Emerson Climate Technologies developed compressors indigenously
Pioneered the indigenous development of a compressor at its Atit India Plant, which runs on the environmentally friendly R290 refrigerantEmerson Climate Technologies (India) indigenously developed a compressor which runs on the environmentally friendly R290 refrigerant at its Atit plant in Satara district, Maharashtra. R290 is a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant having zero Ozone Layer Depletion Potential (ODP) and a low Global Warming Potential (GWP), as defined by the Kyoto Protocol. “In commercial refrigeration applications, new R290 compressors are more efficient than other chemical refrigerants,” a company statement said. “The company has already developed three models of R290 compressors and will be supporting the environmental initiatives by some of the largest beverage manufacturers in India.”
The Atit plant has achieved another very significant milestone of building one million compressors within a period of one year – an unprecedented achievement in the industry. The company exports compressors manufactured in India worldwide to countries across Europe, Middle East, Latin America and Asia.
Speaking on the occasion Shrikant Bapat, Managing Director, Emerson Climate Technologies (India), said, “Globally, manufacturers are looking at cutting costs and providing services more effectively. We are proud of our facilities here at Atit that is highly responsible in energy conservation, safety performances as well as an employer.”
