PM lays the foundation stone for development projects in Assam
In Guwahati, Assam, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, officially opened and laid the groundwork for projects valued at ₹ 11,000 crores.
Projects to improve connections and infrastructure for sports and medicine are among Guwahati’s main areas of concentration.
Speaking to the assembly, the prime minister thanked Maa Kamakhya for officially launching and laying the groundwork for projects valued at ₹ 11,000 crore. According to him, the current development initiatives will improve Assam’s connectivity to surrounding Southeast Asian nations and states in the northeast, as well as increase employment in the tourism industry and open up new prospects for the state’s gifted athletes. Because of the current development projects, he also indicated an increase of the state’s medical education and healthcare industries. The people of Assam and the Northeast area were commended for their development projects by Prime Minister Modi.
Giving details about the project’s idea and scope, PM Modi said that when it is finished, it will improve the comfort and convenience of access for the devotees and increase foot traffic. “With an increase in the footfall of devotees for Maa Kamakhya’s darshan, Assam will become the gateway to tourism in the North East,” the Prime Minister declared, praising the state administration and Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
In attendance at the event were, among others, Shri Gulab Chand Katarai, the governor of Assam; and Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, the union minister for ports, shipping, and waterways, as well as AYUSH.
