Ramco Cements claims the Best Performing Wind Farm.

The investments made in wind farms are testimony to Ramco Cements’ concern for environmental protection and sustainability.

The Indian Wind Power Association has recognized Ramco Cements’ Wind farm as the Best Performing Wind farm in the above 2 MW category for zone one, Tamil Nadu, Aralvoimozhi and Cumbum Pass and zone two of Veeranam, Poolavadi and Ottamadam. 

The awards were given based on an evaluation of the parameters like average machine availability, capacity factor, age of the Wind Farm, cost of maintenance per unit generated, reactive power drawl, wasteland development activities, accidents that occurred, community service activities and innovative measures. 

Even before de-carbonization had become as imperative as today, Ramco Cements had begun harnessing green power, i.e. as early as 1992-93. What started as 4 MW has now reached a capacity of 166 MW. Ramco Cements’ Green Power mix is more than 45% of the total captive power capacity.
