A new cricket stadium boasting world-class facilities in Ranchi built by the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) is the latest addition. Built within the city limits of Ranchi, the hometown of India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the stadium has got international status from every aspect.
Rapid increase in the infrastructure development for cricket is opening new vistas for many industry segments. One such area is architectural hardware products and services.
Neki, provider of world-class architectural hardware products and services, was involved in the successful execution of the landmark project in Ranchi.
According to the company, the international cricket stadium located in Ranchi is one of the most popular junctions of cricketing events. It attracts thousands of spectators on regular basis which justified the need for a notch above quality.
Offering an ideal solution, AISI 304 stainless steel handrail and baluster system of ARCH (a project range of Kich – Neki Group) matched these intricate set of demands perfectly. A variety of its top mounted square baluster system with horizontal members were duly installed in staircase, atrium, seating riser and bleacher areas with total length of handrail amounting to 10,367 RFT, marking the completion of majority of the task.
Considering these are areas where they are subject to maximum exposure, they are designed to offer robust strength and high resistance against atmospheric changes. Further they can withstand heavy usage, without witnessing any trails of deformity. Thus, they promise to sustain the graceful charm of international cricket stadium for a long lasting period. It is what makes them reliable, ability to deliver desired performance even in adverse conditions.
Project scopeKich – Neki team received an opportunity for manufacturing and executing handrail and balustrade works for the newly developed Ranchi International Cricket Stadium with a 40,000 capacity infrastructure. The scope included designing and catering to the requirement and giving a solution keeping in mind the safety of the spectators.
The areas to be catered to were atrium in the grand pavilion, bleacher area seating, riser seating areas, internal staircases and pavilion entry areas.
PlanningWith the support from the team of Architects at Mecon, Ranchi and the project team of Ram Kripal Singh Constructions Pvt. Ltd., Neki has successfully implemented the handrail and balustrade system at the stadium. The planning stage included design planning, production planning and installation on site.
Architects involvedThe architects involved in the project were Mecon Ltd., Ranchi and Kothari Associates, Delhi. Ram Kripal Singh Constructions Pvt. Ltd. was the contractor for this world-class stadium.
Materials usedThe railings with 304 Grade Stainless Steel for the entire stadium were executed by Kich – Neki.
The design that best suited the stadium was top-mounted square baluster with horizontal members.
Kich – Neki has executed a total of 10,367 RFT of railings with a project value of approximately Rs 2 crore.
