Samir Surlaker bags award for his contribution

 Samir Surlaker, the Managing Director of MC-Bauchemie (India) Pvt. Ltd., has been awarded with Outstanding Concrete Engineer Award in a function jointly organised by Indian Concrete Institute and Ultratech.
Mr Surlaker is a Civil and Structural Engineer from VJTI having over 35 years of experience in construction chemicals, rehabilitation strategies, injection systems etc. across Germany, Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific Countries and India. He is presently President of Construction Chemicals Manufacturers Association, Chairman of ICI, Mumbai and Director of ICACI.
The event held in Goa was attended by over 200 engineering professionals. Pascoa1 Noronha, Chairman ICI Goa welcomed the attendants and the function was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr Radhakrishnan, Secretary General of ICI. Keshav Tayde, VP (West) ICI was the Guest of Honour.
Mr Surlaker made a technical presentation on recent advances in construction chemicals. He is Co-author of Advance Handbook of Concrete Technology and has presented over 800 lectures and written over 150 technical papers. He is a Goan engineer of international repute. “This is a rare honour as I am getting this in Goa,” said Mr Surlaker accepting the award.
Also, the new airport terminal of Goa was awarded the outstanding concrete structure and the award was received by M.N.N. Rao, GM, Airport Authority of India. He explained the features and intricacies of new Goa airport terminal in his presentation.
Jury application award was given to Irrigation Department for Bhandara (weir) on remote river in Usgaon which was completed within a record time. Outstanding concrete structure – building category was awarded to Space Building in Patto with M.S. Suctankar as architect. ‘Well-built residential villas’ was awarded to a Villa in Priol with Mr. Kelekar as Architect.
