Teemage Builders construct the largest hospital using precast in record time

This construction executed in the lockdown period was completed exactly in 45 days’ time.

Teemage Builders Private Limited achieved the feat of completing  the construction of a large hospital  using precast in the shortest time period. The total area of construction of  the building was 6428.89087 square meters  (69200.0056 square feet). The hospital which  can accommodate 401 in-patients (general  ward/common ward) was constructed in  exactly 45 days. 

The construction of the hospital building  was done using precast shear wall  construction technology. All wall panels,  beams, staircases and concrete blocks  used/built were designed using the precast  concrete shear wall technique. All precast  panels, blocks, and other precast items are  made/manufactured at the manufacturing  unit or at factory environment and it was  assembled at the construction site. Metal  beams were not used for construction in  this building. Wall panels or concrete blocks  were connected/bonded using grouting  processes and methods that are acceptable  in precast technology standards globally. 

The hospital building consists of all  prerequisites of a hospital in all means.  It consists of two wings which are  interconnected with each other as per the LPA Building Plan and Physical Construction.  The technical team in the specific field has  certified that the constructed building meets  all the standards as per precast concrete  construction technology. The building is a  permanent, robust and a stable installation.  In constructing this building all the fire  safety and rescue norms and standards,  electrical safety standards and sanitation  safety standards were adhered to. 

The hospital constructed by Teemage  Builders Private Limited was handed over  to the Government Erode Medical College  and Hospital, Perundurai, Erode District on  July 2, 2021. It is expected that this newly constructed hospital will be utilized as the  COVID block during this pandemic which  will facilitate 201 beds with oxygen support  and 200 beds in the general ward totaling  to 401 in-patient beds. 

Keeping in mind the focus on social cause  and responsibility, the construction of  the hospital was executed in the COVID  lockdown period with the special permission  from the district administration. Teemage  has dedicated this facility to the community  in all means.
