Lodha goes green with IGBC Certification

Lodha, India’s No. 1* real estate developer, has announced the adoption of IGBC Green Building Ratings across its residential portfolio in Mumbai and Pune. Lodha has registered nearly 25 million square feet of residential projects under appropriate IGBC Green Residential Providing Ratings, demonstrating its commitment to the objective of building a better living. Lodha’s complete portfolio of residential, commercial, and industrial developments will now be eligible for green certifications as a result of this development.

Aun Abdullah, ESG Leader, Lodha, said in response to the statement: We share a tremendous duty to do what is appropriate for tackling future climate threats. We set a North star goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2035, focusing on our mission to provide a better Earth for future generations. We want to show that our projects are always planned with sustainability in mind by using the IGBC Green Buildings Ratings. Our medium-term goal is to become a ‘net positive’ organisation, concentrating not only on financial success but also on societal and environmental good.

Since 2007, Lodha has been an IGBC Founding Member. Lodha has the unusual honour of being an IGBC Green Champion Organization for demonstrating their dedication to the green building movement with different activities such as raising awareness, leading the way in green building adoption for their own facilities, and so on. Lodha is also a signatory to the IGBC’s Net Zero Mission. This is also part of Lodha’s climate action plan, which began last year with a net-zero promise.

IGBC National Chairman Mr Gurmit Singh Arora praised Lodha’s green activities and commended them on their Net Zero objective. He went on to say that Lodha’s initiatives would continue to encourage many more developers in Maharashtra and around the country to use green building design, construction, and operating techniques. He stated that the IGBC is happy to have advocates of the green construction movement in India such as the Lodha.
