Alpod: Biggest paradigm shift in housing industry
Alpod is yet to be tried and tested in the real estate market but this according to me is biggest paradigm in the housing industry.
How technologies will reduce cost
Upcoming housing projects are expected to create huge scope for developing technology but there are few hurdles which technology has to overcome believes Tejas Vyas, Chairman Exhibition Committee, MCHI-CREDAI. He says, “With the need a lot of housing projects are coming up in the future and there shall be a huge scope in India to develop technology. The main question here will be that how cost effects of those technologies will affect the housing projects. As we know, there are a lot of cost implications on a housing project as far as real estate, commercial and housing is concerned. There are a lot of other costs which comes along with it. Hence, how these technologies become fruitful in the long run with its productivity reducing the cost will play an important role. These are a few factors and challenges which technology has to come up with. Technology, without a say comes along with modernisation and digitalisation.”
Plug-and-play home
The greatest breakthrough technology of 2016 is ideation of creating a movable Alpod which was developed by an architect James law from Hong Kong. This new and most modern innovation that is been seen in technology is something to really look upon. The entire house is a small set of look and feel of a mobile phone of around 400 square ft. “Alpod consist of all the latest transformable gadget and furniture. The house can be relocated from one place to another and can be stacked into floors. Also the floors can be shifted. One can call it a ‘plug-and-play’ home. Alpod is yet to be tried and tested in the real estate market but this according to me is biggest paradigm shift in the housing industry,” states Vyas.
Planning to use urban-ovation technique
Sharing about how this technology will add value to the profession Vyas said, “We are yet in the stages of brainstorming and figuring out if such a house itself can be used for housing. So in the near future we are planning to use such new and innovative techniques or they call it urban-ovation techniques. Today, as our society is ready for futuristic technology.”
