Ammann collabs with Volvo Ce for ABG Paver business
The Ammann Group and Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) have reached an agreement whereby Ammann will acquire Volvo CE’s global ABG Paver business, including ABG in Hameln, Germany.
Both businesses will gain from the arrangement, which will expand the Ammann Group’s product offering and distribution network while enabling Volvo CE to keep its strategic focus on creating future technologies and services as well as sustainable solutions.
The deal, which is anticipated to be finished in the first half of 2024, involves the transfer of Volvo CE’s ABG facility in Hameln, Germany, as well as its paving businesses in Linyi, China, and Bangalore, India.
“This strategic acquisition completes the depth of our product offerings and makes the solutions we offer customers more comprehensive,” says Hans-Christian Schneider, CEO of the Ammann Group. “The acquisition will also position Ammann with a suite of solutions, covering everything from asphalt plants to paving and compaction,” he added.
ABG in Hameln, Germany, will serve as the centre of excellence for Ammann’s paving activities, and the company will use its client relationships and industry knowledge to direct the development of the pavers. The entire range of paving options, as well as aftermarket and other services, will continue to be available to dealers and customers of Ammann and Volvo CE.
Work council consultations and regulatory permissions are prerequisites for this deal. With a focus on roadbuilding and transportation infrastructure, Ammann is a global leader in providing mixing facilities, equipment, and services to the construction sector. The family-run business, founded in Switzerland, has achieved success beyond borders since 1869.
