Caterpillar and its dealer TIPL expand footprint in Rajasthan

Caterpillar and its Indian dealer network is aggressively expanding its footprint in Rajasthan in a bid to further bolster its sales and service network through TIPL. TIPL, authorised dealer of Caterpillar in north and east of India, plans to open a substantial number of retail outlets and after sales service centres at various locations in Rajasthan, including Jaipur and Udaipur to widen its reach and services to customers through the availability of high quality parts and technical support. This follows a recently launched after-sales facility earlier this month.  This facility boasts of state-of-the-art workshop capabilities, and offers a component rebuild for engines meeting stringent quality controls as stipulated by Caterpillar. It also has an expanded service parts warehouse to meet the increasing customer demand.
The expansion in after-sales network is expected to generate greater employment opportunities in Rajasthan. TIPL is looking at doubling the size of its sales team and recruiting technicians to support customers through new outlets. It already has an impressive team of highly skilled service engineers and has further plans to recruit up to 30 people in Rajasthan.
“We are continuously ramping up our services and distribution network. With this expansion we will improve our capability to supply high quality spare parts to our construction customers close to their operations and further develop our services business. We believe that the most effective solutions are delivered to customers by being available at the right place at the right time, and that is also what laid the foundation for this expansion,” stated Kevin Strydom, South Asia Regional Director, Caterpillar India.
Speaking on the expansion, Kewalramani, Head Construction and Mining Solutions, TIPL said, “Rajasthan is an integral market for Caterpillar. The 424B Backhoe loader, and 320 D Excavator which are manufactured in India have been generating exceptional results and driving the sales growth in the region. Our Udaipur facility and soon to open retail stores will enable us to respond quickly to the after-sales needs of our ever expanding customer base. All our facilities and centres are equipped with the latest tools and qualified Caterpillar-trained personnel to ensure a better service experience.”
