When the first glass façade building came up in Mumbai namely DHL, Ashok Khemlani found an opportunity and pioneered the manufacture of façade access systems. Since then and all along, he witnessed a vacuum of non-availability of any literature or a textbook or a book on façade access. He researched on this subject but struggled to find information which could give him better understanding.
Today after having serviced the construction industry for five decades and being a pioneer of façade access system and façade maintenance in India. Mr. Khemlani has shared all the knowledge he has acquired over the years in the form of a book. The book is comprehensive study of the practices and technology in the industry that he has observed and practiced in the last 27 years. In the book the readers will find much that will be of interest to Architects, Surveyors, Building owners and Managers, as well as construction professional of all disciplines. There will be new technologies and systems invented in the future, but as of today, it’s his effort in encapsulating the subject which is his contribution to the façade access system. The book known as “Facade Access Systems – Practices and Technology” was launched at Neel -Tote on the Turf, Mahalakshmi, Mumbai on 9th November. The book launch saw the presence of Peter Johnson, Director OCS Group Ltd and Formerly Chairman Cradle Runways International (UK). Mr. Khemlani plans to distribute free copies of these books to architecture and engineering colleges for free, so that they have a ready reference for façade access systems to look at. The book will also be available on Amazon for purchase.
