KONE expands in Sri Lankan market

Elevators and escalators maker KONE is expanding its operations in the Sri Lankan market and have entered into a distribution agreement with Scan Engineering (Pvt) Ltd, that has about 10 years of experience in installing, maintaining and servicing elevators and escalators.

Speaking on the occasion, Amit Gossain, Managing Director, KONE Elevator India, said, “The tourism industry will be seeing great growth and this will call for better infrastructure facilities, which will spur the growth of the construction sector. We see a good potential for our brand in this market as the customers like to have a premium quality brand of KONE for their use. KONE will provide elevators, escalators as well as solutions for maintenance and modernisation to the Sri Lankan market.”

Scan Engineering (Pvt) Ltd has skilled personnel, some of them who have been technically trained in places like China, Malaysia and Korea in all aspects of the elevator and escalator needs.

Speaking on the occasion, Keerthi Abeynayake, Managing Director, Scan Engineering (Pvt) Ltd, said, “We have been in the industry for a long time and have a lot of expertise in handling this segment. Our tie-up with KONE, a world-class brand, will further strengthen our confidence in serving the market much better.”
