Otis wins largest single contract in Indian elevator industry’s history [June 2013]

Otis Elevator Company (India) Ltd. is proud to announce that it has been awarded the elevators and escalators contract for Hyderabad Metro Rail Project by L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd. (LTMRHL). Otis has been contracted to supply and install a total of 670 elevators and escalators for the project. Of the total units, there will be 260 Gen2 Premier elevators and 410 units of the 520 NPE escalators installed in over 66 metro stations, workshops and other buildings at depots. Otis will also maintain the units for 10 years after the 2-year warranty for which a separate maintenance contract is being entered with Otis India. Otis is a unit of United Technologies Corp.
The Letter of Award (LOA) was signed and exchanged by V. B. Gadgil, Chief Executive and Managing Director, LTMRHL and Sebi Joseph, Managing Director, Otis Elevator Company India Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gadgil, stated, “I am pleased that as of now, we are well within our time frame of executing the project ahead of schedule. We have successfully accomplished placing all major equipment contracts as per schedule.”
