Samafit VK: solution to rising dampness

Samafit VK protects the structures from dampness, associated moss, fungus and root growth
Samafit VK is a two-pack waterproofing and sealing system for permanently solving the persistent capillary-based rising dampness in the superstructure. Rising dampness brings dissolved salts and chemicals along with it, and results in peeling of plasters, paints and acceleration of rotting of wood in affected areas. Rising dampness is on the account of failure of Damp Proofing Course (DPC) or its absence. Old structures and monuments built several years back and with unconventional building materials are more prone to rising dampness.
Samafit VK system eliminates rising dampness by sealing the capillaries in the structure and providing an impermeable barrier to the passage of water by converting the hygroscopic capillaries to hydrophobic by the process of silicification. The two components of Samafit VK react in the capillaries and form a gel product, which makes the capillaries non wettable. Therefore, water does not rise in the capillaries against gravity and prevents rising dampness. The two components of SamafitVK should be introduced separately into the structure through zigzag pre-drilled holes, after a small time gap. Samafit VK thus protects the structures from dampness, associated moss, fungus and root growth. The walls are rendered dry for better plastering and painting. Samafit VK can be effectively used for masonry superstructures, unconventional porous construction materials, old structures, monuments, for structures in built in high water tables and to prevent the rising dampness, occurring due to splashing rains in the lower unprotected zones.
