100,000th JCB engine rolls out of Ballabgarh facility
Earthmoving and construction equipment manufacturing major JCB India has set a production landmark by rolling out its 100,000th ecoMAX engine in its fifth year of production.
The company started manufacturing its own range of engines in India in 2011 and today, JCB ecoMAX engines are regarded as the most fuel efficient, reliable and productive engines available in the Indian market.
“This is a remarkable achievement for JCB. It is a matter of great pride for us – our team of young men and women to roll out 100,000th ‘Made in India’ ecoMAX engine from our facility at Ballabgarh. This milestone is a testimony to the world class quality products designed and manufactured by JCB India,” said Vipin Sondhi, Managing Director and CEO, JCB India. “Like every JCB product, our engines are also manufactured on the company philosophy of ‘One Global Quality” and are exported to various countries around the globe.”
JCB currently manufactures three types of engines – Naturally Aspirated, Turbo Charged and Electronic. These are in the range of 56 kW to 121 kW in 4-cylinder ratings. JCB additionally provides its 6-cylinder range for larger applications.
JCB India is a fully-owned subsidiary of JC Bamford Excavators Limited, UK, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of earthmoving and construction equipment. Worldwide, JCB produces over 300 different models, which are sold in over 150 countries.
In India, the company offers 43 different machines in seven product types such as backhoe loaders, wheeled loading shovels, tracked excavators, vibratory compactors, telehandlers, skid steer loaders and gensets.
