Tamil Nadu to get 4th major port

Ports & Shipping: Chennai Port Trust plans to set up a Major port at Enayam near Colachel in Tamil Nadu. An SPV would be formed for development of this Port with initial equity investment from the three Major Ports in Tamil Nadu i.e. V.O.Chidambaranar Port Trust, Chennai Port Trust, and Kamarajar Port Ltd. The SPV will develop the port infrastructure including dredging and reclamation, construction of breakwater, ensuring connectivity links etc. The Centre has recently accorded ín principle approval for this project.
