Lingel has the door options available and we are proposing the option to our customers. Once the consumer adopts the value addition these doors will be sold widely says Mario Schmidt, Managing Director, Lingel Windows and Doors Technologies Private Limited.
What are your thoughts on the Atmanirbhar Bharat?
Our entire business depends on sales so each person has to be self-reliant or Atmanirbhar. Our sales team and another team at the factory are working as per the norms. If the sales representative does not work hard independently, they will not be able to achieve the required target. Every sales member is responsible for his/her relationship with the customer and the completion of work.
One has to step out of the comfort zone and do the job efficiently and effectively. When a person becomes Atmanirbhar, he becomes more responsible and can overcome the day to day challenges. Atmanirbhar Bharat will have a positive impact on our sector as each one will become more accountable for what they do.
In the wake of the pandemic, what kind of additional features (safety or otherwise) will be desired in the end product?
We are hoping that due to the current pandemic, the consumer has an additional budget to adopt automatic door opener for casement doors. Across the world, these door closers are very common but in case of a door opener, an engine-driven device is required as the door has to open on its own and not just close. Lingel has the door options available and we are proposing the option to our customers. Once the consumer is adopting the value addition; these doors will be sold widely.
What kind of solutions are you incorporating in your products, so that they remain germ-free?
The door handle is one of the most important factors as we all have to use it often. There are multiple ways of cleaning and one has to ensure that the handles have the right powder coating; Lingel is providing this to its customers. Our powder coating surfaces by AkzoNobel creates extreme durability like an invisible protective shield and has a versatile look.
Going forward, what will be the emerging trend in the manufacturing of doors and windows?
The hardware industry needs to come forward in providing robust surfaces. Ideally, a classification based on cleaning cycles with sanitizing liquids is used in the market. For handles and locks, the total operation cycles are tested and classified as well as the salt spray test in hours classifies the quality of the product. The industry also needs to come forward with a test method meeting with the new challenges on the product.
Will app-controlled smart doors and windows become the new norm to reduce physical contact? Lingel will fully support the app-controlled doors and windows. The driver for this growth needs to be the hardware industry itself. As of now, all options available are widely made only for wooden doors. There is a very limited variety available fitting into the hardware requirements that a uPVC and aluminium system needs.
