Duroplast India unveils cutting-edge uPVC window profile facility in Howrah

“Duroplast’s commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability is poised to shape the future of construction in India and beyond.” Lalit Agarwal, Chairman Duroplast India Pvt. Ltd.

Duroplast India Pvt. Ltd., a prominent name in the construction and infrastructure sector, is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its state-of-the-art facility in Howrah, West Bengal. This new establishment signifies a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing journey of innovation and expansion. Duroplast’s latest venture focuses on the production of highly energy-efficient uPVC window profiles, aligning perfectly with the growing demand for sustainable and modern construction solutions.

One of the primary factors that make this inauguration remarkable is the facility’s strategic location. Situated near the system supplier’s extrusion plant, which has been operational since 2010, this positioning presents several key advantages for Duroplast. The synergy between these facilities ensures a seamless supply chain, reducing lead times and enhancing production efficiency.

To keep up with the soaring demand and expand their footprint in both the Indian and African markets, Duroplast invested a substantial 40 crores in the construction of their cutting-edge uPVC profile extrusion factory in Howrah. This sprawling facility encompasses an impressive 1,50,000 square feet and currently houses ten extrusion lines, with ambitious plans to add six more in the coming year. Not stopping there, the company has introduced automated mixing and a SCADA-based conveying system, in addition to a foiling line for window profile finishing. This expansion enables Duroplast to churn out a remarkable 8,000 tonnes of profiles, which can cater to the construction of 100,000 homes annually.

This new facility has the potential to accommodate up to 15 uPVC extrusion lines, expand to an impressive 3,00,000 square feet, and introduce another 30 lines to meet the ever-rising demand. Notably, it offers ample logistical space and features a state-of-the-art technical training centre for partner firms. Neeraj Agarwal, Duroplast’s Managing Director, takes immense pride in declaring it to be one of India’s largest window profile extrusion facilities.

Lalit Agarwal, the company’s Chairman, harbours ambitious plans to invest in infrastructure, new product development, and brand building to establish market dominance. Duroplast’s product portfolio includes various series, emphasising the use of a specialised, high-quality lead-free compound to combat discolouration due to high UV radiation in the region. They also offer a range of window systems that adhere to international quality standards.

Duroplast doesn’t merely stop at manufacturing; they are committed to educating their customers, architects, real estate developers, and contractors about the benefits of uPVC window systems. The company underscores the importance of adhering to quality and standards as per BS EN 12606 or the newly published IS 17953, ensuring that every project they are involved in meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Mehul Agarwal, the second Director of the company, sees the new extrusion plant as a vital step toward the “Made in India” campaign and a pathway to building a 5 trillion-dollar economy. Duroplast is committed to expanding its production and service capabilities across India, contributing to the nation’s growth and development.
