ISH India powered by IPA 2020 postponed until September over coronavirus concerns
The event was originally scheduled to be held from May 7-9 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, the fair will now take place from September 18-20.
On account of the escalating global pandemic, Messe Frankfurt India together with the Indian Plumbing Association has mutually agreed to postpone ISH India powered by IPA 2020. The event was originally scheduled to be held from May 7-9 at Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, the fair will now take place from September 18-20 at the same venue.
Due to the rising uncertainty caused by the spread of Covid-19 combined with travel restrictions and lockdowns across countries to reduce the risk of further spread of coronavirus, the upcoming Mumbai edition of ISH India powered by IPA, will not go ahead as originally planned in May 2020.
World-over, businesses are working around undefined parameters, which can make it further challenging for exhibitors and visitors to travel and attend business normally in the weeks following the lockdown. After close consultations with members of IPA and supporting associations who were strongly in favour of the postponement, the organisers felt that this is the best and responsible course of action for the industry, which will also give exhibitors time to plan their participation more effectively.
The organisers of “ISH India powered by IPA” fully support the Government’s initiatives. National President of the Indian Plumbing Association, Gurmit Singh Arora said, “The COVID-19 virus has brought humanity together. The virus does not distinguish between caste, creed, colour, city and country. It is, therefore, our joint responsibility to ensure the safety of all exhibitors and visitors, to the only standalone exhibition on plumbing products, technologies and services. To make sure we stop the spread of the virus we have jointly decided to postpone the exhibition until September 2020.”
“As organisers, this is a difficult decision but one that is in the favour of our exhibitors as well as in the interest of the health and safety of the fair-attendees and our employees,” added Raj Manek, Executive Director and Board Member, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd.
Given the current circumstances, the importance of sanitation systems will gain larger significance together with the right plumbing, bathroom and water management solutions that support proper waste and water disposals and recycling. It becomes all the more important to bring together sector players targeting these solutions. With this renewed confidence, ISH India powered by IPA will take place from September 18-20.
