What are some of the important points to be considered before zeroing down on lighting for living spaces?
The spatial considerations have to be taken into account before zeroing down on any lighting. One must also take into account the abundance or lack of natural lighting, given that it dictates the amount of artificial lighting necessary for any space. Finally, the function of a space is also a factor, as the sort of lighting one would need in a study or a home office would differ from the one you’d use in the living room.

When it comes to lighting in retail and commercial spaces vis a vis residential spaces, how does it differ?
A residential lighting system differs from a commercial lighting system on many counts. From design, manufacturing and product selection to installation, there are many factors that distinguish the two types of lighting systems.

The primary difference between the two lighting systems is their purpose and functionality. Commercial lighting are built and augmented differently than their residential counterparts, as there’s a lot more traffic in a commercial space so they are more durable. They’re also costlier due to this. Unlike the residential models, even their fixtures have a different design in order to meet all the necessary requirements. Likewise, the manufacturing techniques adopted to manufacture them too is different.

What kind of lighting can incorporate energy efficiency in a given space without compromising on the aesthetics?
Spatial lighting systems are both a dominant consumer of energy and a major source of internal heat. To combat this, many individuals are incorporating automated and circadian lighting systems which are useful for cutting lighting operational costs significantly while enhancing lighting quality, reducing environmental impacts, and promoting health and work productivity.
