Nuvoco Vistas introduces ecodure thermally insulated-concrete

On World Environment Day, Nuvoco Vistas Corp. Ltd., India’s fifth-largest cement firm, debuts its groundbreaking product, Ecodure Thermal Insulated Concrete.

The breakthrough material offers an environmentally responsible solution to the concerns of global warming and rising indoor temperatures by increasing energy efficiency and lowering cooling costs in buildings.

Ecodure Thermal Insulated Concrete is a technological innovation in construction materials, made with specialised particles that have a lower thermal conductivity than standard concrete. This innovative blend reduces indoor temperatures by up to 3°C, giving a sustainable solution to the growing heat caused by global warming.

It also reduces cooling load and Energy Use Intensity (EUI) in buildings, resulting in various advantages, including a 5 percent reduction in building EUI, a 6 percent reduction in space cooling load, and a 7 percent reduction in cooling capacity demand. Furthermore, its decreased density results in a smaller building load, which can minimise construction costs. Ecodure also contributes to a lower overall carbon footprint for buildings by reducing embodied carbon.

This product is best suited for residential, industrial, and institutional structures. It will be widely available in India through Nuvoco’s RMX plants beginning June 5, 2024.
