Radhekrishna Chemical: bonding with conviction

Radhekrishna Chemical: bonding with convictionPlasterbond/Piasterbond (super)Plasterbond is a modified polymeric solution, specially formulated to achieve a stronger bonding between plaster and concrete or between old and new plaster. It eradicates the need of hacking of concrete. Hacking of RCC members don’t give proper bonding between old and new concrete and also leads to micro-cracking and development of stresses.
Plasterbond super is a similar product of higher solids concentration. It is highly tacky. It is recommended for ceilings, especially big halls as there is an additional gravitational force pulling the plaster down. All other properties and application procedures are the same.Technical data•  Polymer type: acrylic co-polymer•  Appearance: white•  pH: 7-9•  Coverage: 80 to 100 sq. ft./kg•  Shelf life: 12 months in original packing.Application procedure•  Clean the surface with water jet to remove loose particles, dirt etc. and then moisten the surface•  If rebars are exposed, apply rust remover and remove the rust. Then apply POLYFIX in two coats to passivate the steel•  Then apply one single coat of Plasterbond either by brush or spray. After 10-15 min when the surface becomes tacky, give a chit-chat of cement mortar• Then plaster the surface or place the concrete within 2 hours•  Clean the brushes immediately after useAdvantages•  Builds strong bond between plaster and concrete/old and new plaster•  Reduces rebound loss•  Easily applicable by brush/spray•  Improves waterproofing up to a certain extentRust converterRust Converter is a single component active chemical (liquid) which reacts with the adherent rust on the metal surface and forms a protective film, which prevents further rusting of steel.Technical data• Appearance: slightly hazy coloured liquid•  pH: acidic• Coverage: 80 to 100 sq. ft./kg•  Shelf life: 12 to 18 months.Application procedure• First remove the loose rust from the desired surface by a wire brush or emery paper• Then apply rust converter solution by brush or spray• Allow it to react with the surface for around 2 hours• Then apply a passivator coat with POLYFIX• Forms a long-lasting protective film on the metal surface• Easily applicable by brush and spray• Non-toxic, no obnoxious odour•  Non irritant to skinPolybond SBRPolybond SBR is basically a styrene butadiene latex. It is designed for use in cement-latex compositions. It has good mechanical stability properties and a long-term non-foaming behaviour. It also passes the freeze thaw cycle stability test. It gives very high resistance to the penetration of water into the cement admixture, which gives better aging. It highly reduces the water cement ratio, thereby increasing the compressive strength of the mortar.Technical data•  Appearance: white•  pH: 8 to 10•  Solids: > 45•  Shelf life: 12 months in original packing.Mortar with Polybond SBR•  Polybond SBR: 1 kg•  Cement: 5 kg•  Quartz sand: 15 kg•  Water: about 1-1.25 litresApplication procedure•  First wet down the surface thoroughly. For preparing band coat, mix 1kg Polybond SBR with 0.5 to 1 kg cement to a lump free consistency. Apply this slurry by brush on the surface• Within 10 minutes of application of bondcoat, apply the polymer mortar•  Curing should be done for 2-3 days.Uses•  In repair mortars/concretes•  All waterproofing mortars/concretes.
