Strong involvement by profile system providers to ensure growth

What’s trending in modern construction
With space becoming a big issue, our glass house conservatories will be a solution to solve this issue. We can cover balconies and make living spaces, especially in existing houses. These kinds of glass houses can be built on the rooftops of houses or even buildings since this is a non-permanent structure would not attract objection by officials. This is a very light construction and one does not have to worry about the weight as the overall weight of the building does not get affected. And within eight weeks, we can assemble a complete conservatory glass house in any building in India. This is one trend that will be picking up soon in modern construction.

Looking ahead
uPVC being very sustainable and eco-friendly is an all-time favourite. To assure future growth, strong involvement by all profile system providers is compulsory. Since the main journey of the product starts only after the extrusion of the profile section, it is important that right guidance and technical support is provided by the system providers to the window fabricators. Further, to assure quality of products, we are introducing three-party quality audit for fabricators.

Industry could move into price-driven market while neglecting the minimum quality requirements of the product, if it fails to provide strong quality check on fabricators. Consequently, the movement will lead to disappointment for customers which could in turn make them wonder away to other fenestration items.

As per uPVC Window & Door Manufacturers Association research, we do have around 20 companies in India who are into profile extrusion and around 1000 companies which are into window fabrication. In terms of revenue, we still are of the view that both verticals, profile sales and window sales have not crossed ₹2,000 crore as on date.
