All the products that are delivered in the domestic market are manufactured in our factory and besides we are also exporting systems to North America, Europe and Asia, says Aditya Bhave, Director, Klaus Multiparking India.

How can Klaus Multiparking solutions make parking spaces smarter especially in Indian Metros where space is a constraint?
The big metro cities in India are only getting bigger and space is becoming more of a premium every single day. Klaus Multiparking can provide a solution that can ensure maximum space utilization without compromising comfort to the end-user, so they do not need to worry about their car once it is in the system. With a multilevel parking system, there is the possibility to go up to a maximum of 10 parking pallets in the footprint of one parking space which can free up a lot of space for amenities.

Apart from the space constraint, cars parked in a system are also safe from theft or damage as compared to parking on a street outside your home and office. And users do not need to drive around for several minutes to find a parking spot, thereby reducing fuel consumption and having a net positive effect on the environment.

Are these systems being designed and produced in India? What kind of local manufacturing capabilities do you have currently?
Klaus Multiparking was one of the first entrants to the mechanized parking industry in 2002 and since the early years, we have invested in developing a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Shirwal near Pune. All the products that are delivered in the domestic market are manufactured in our factory and besides, we are also exporting systems to North America, Europe and Asia. With German technology at heart and cost-efficient manufacturing in India, we can deliver the best value to our customers.

In terms of manufacturing itself, we have a complete in-house process with robotic welding, laser cutting, CNC bending and powder coating. Since we have maximum facilities in-house, we can control the product quality and also reduce the overall manufacturing lead times from months to weeks.

Who are some of your esteemed clients and which are some of the esteemed projects in India where your solutions have been utilized?
We take great pride to be associated with top developers and architects across the country. Over the last two decades, we have completed hundreds of projects and delivered more than 80,000 car spaces across the entire geography of our country. This includes all types of segments such as residential, commercial offices, hotels, malls, cinemas and even hospitals. In addition to our projects, we also have a superb network of skilled service engineers that carry out preventive maintenance of the systems all over the country and can also attend to any customer queries at any time of the day.

Klaus Multiparking has come a long way in the last few decades. The global footprint says it all. How is the future of the Multiparking industry in India?
We have been in India for almost two decades now with a footprint in all the major cities across the country and our vast geography presents us with challenges but also a greater number of opportunities. With the introduction of government initiatives like GST and RERA, we believe that the construction industry will see huge growth not only in terms of quantity of units sold but also the quality of construction.

We are and have always been very optimistic about India, and today our country is on the cusp of huge economic and technological growth with the highest number of young people in the world who have an aspiration to own a home and a car and therefore we believe that the multilevel car parking industry shall become a very common technology in the coming decade.
